Shown On TSN (Canada) 2006

Before a sold out crowd of 2300 screaming fans FREEDOM FIGHT 2006 once again helped to take MMA to greater heights of popularity. What the fans witnessed was a solid card full of today’s champions as well as tomorrows legends. 10 explosive battles left all in attendance asking when the next one will be.

If you missed this event have no fear as TSN, Canada’s Sports Leader will be airing all 5 Team bouts plus one preliminary bout that definitely set the tone for the event. See Coach Carlos Newton and coach Phil Baroni as they lead their troops into battle for national pride.

Last July Team USA took home the medals but this time out team Canada promises victory!

Don’t miss part one of this event on TSN on January 28th, at 9pm EASTERN. This event is hosted by Michael Landsberg of TSN’s “off the record” and of course, the one and only “Showdown Joe”.

Tune in to TSN on February 4, 2006 at 9pm EASTERN to witness the dramatic finals of Team Canada vs. Team USA.

TEAM FIGHTS

Nuri Shakir vs. Kevin Manderson

Coming off a 4 fight winning streak, Shakir will represent the USA against a Joe Doerksen protégé Kevin Manderson. Both can swing and both can hit the mats…who will emerge victorious?

Wagnney Fabiano vs. Matt Fioradosa

Fabianno is a professor of BJJ and undefeated in MMA. Fioradosa is no stranger to the mat and is a top ranked national wrestler south of the boarder. Matt’s teacher Jeff Curren has been dying to get his hands on Wagnney but first Fabianno must get past the student.

Craig Brown vs. John Clarke

Farmer Brown made headlines with his KO victory in the first Freedom Fight and now he steps up to face highly touted American John Clarke. These are 2 young guns who love to punch, knee, elbow and choke their way to victory but at Freedom Fight their can be only one winner.

Kevin Engel vs. Nick Rodinelli

These two have met before but the match ended with a controversial decision. At Freedom Fight they will get reacquainted in a special kickboxing bout that is sure to finally settle the score. Both have gained a wealth of experience since their first meeting and both posses knock out power with each strike. This fight is sure to NOT go the distance!

Stephan Potvin vs. Art Santore

The main event pits two Freedom Fight vets from July’s debut event. Both athletes gave great performances at Freedom Fight 2005, both athletes earned their place with blood, and both athletes were two of the most requested fighters that fans wanted to see return. Potvin is known for his stand up fighting skills and Art promises that he will test him with a barrage of strikes from all angles. Art proved his grappling wizardry in his past fights but Potvin has a surprise or two up his sleeve if the fight goes to the ground.
